Can we declare the COVID-19 pandemic over? For some, it may feel like it. However, in parts of the U.S. and other countries around the world, the Delta variant is wreaking havoc. Safety is top of mind for employees as they return to the workplace. Companies need to actively communicate and document they have programs in place that comply with state and federal guidelines and best practices.
A survey by the American Psychological Association found that 49% of adults feel uneasy about returning to in-person interactions once the pandemic is over. A similar study from Envoy found that 66% of employees said they were worried about their health when thinking about returning to the workplace.
Both operating cost increases and revenue decreases correlated with how prepared a company was for the effects of the pandemic. A prepared company was twice as likely to report no significant change in operating costs. Prepared companies were also two and a half times less likely to have experienced decreased revenue.
